March was a huge month for receiving your quilted items for donations including:

Please pick up labels from the charity table to sew on your finished quilts when
possible. Most of the 40 quilts turned in last month did not have labels.
I do wash the quilts if they have not been washed (with color catchers). Some are
turned in washed already which is great! However, if you do wash them, do not use
detergent or dryer sheets with fragrance. Many people are sensitive to strong scents
and sometimes it takes several washes to remove the fragrance.
Always check your work for loose threads.
Your quilted work is amazing and the generosity of your time, talent and resources is so
inspiring. These few steps will save a lot of time on the back end in getting these out
the door to people that appreciate the quilts.

- 1 cat cage comforter
- 2 pillowcases (turned in to Hayes's drop-off for Ryan's Cases for Smiles).

- 50 Kids quilts donated to Camp Erin and Chester County Hospital ob/gyn clinic
- 52 to Paoli Hospital NICU
- 35 to Christiana Care NIC
- 15 to Meals on Wheels clients in West Chester area
- 13 to Community Warehouse (communitywarehouseproject.com)
- 25 to Penn Medicine Hospice

For donations to hurricane victims, we are working through a quilt shop in Weaverville, NC, just north of Asheville. The shop (5 Little Monkeys Quilt & Sew) is coordinating quilt donations in the area and has
requested bed size quilts, twin up to king....no crib size ones, at least not yet. Many of the hurricane
survivors lost everything, many are sleeping in tents still and many are being set up in tiny homes as they
are built or donated RVs.
If you are interested in helping with this project in any way, such as: sewing a top, doing the
longarming or binding, or donating the batting, you can contact Marcia Bickley (484-844-9314) or

This month we donated 36 quilts through Stitch Central's donation drive for Nationalities Service Center in Philadelphia, who provide quilts to refugees as they arrive in Philly.

CHARITY CORNER Donations for November 2023
- 105 NICU Quilts, bringing us to 180 total. We will continue to collect NICU quilts for anyone still making them! As we have enough, we will continue to donate them. In December, these were delivered to Christiana Care Hospital and Nemours Children's Hospital. Thanks to Cindy Barone and Jen Celeste for delivering! Contact has been made to deliver to Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia as well. At the December meeting, we will be drawing for 4 - $25 gift cards to lucky winners from those making these this year.
- 294 'Scent' Hearts to be donated to the NICU recipients. We will continue to collect these.
- 3 Kids quilts and 3 Adult quilts
- 12 Cat Cage Comforters - This brought our 2023 total to 167! All collected have been delivered to Humane Animal Partners in Wilmington, DE.
- 30 Pillowcases were collected this month. These have all been donated to Ryan's Cases for Smiles
- We delivered 30 kids quilts to the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington this month.

- 18 Cat Cage Comforters - This brought our 2023 total to 157! All collected have been delivered to Humane Animal Partners in Wilmington, DE.
- 39 Pillowcases were collected this month. Combined with the 74 so far collected for Nemours
- 20 NICU Quilts, bringing us to 75 total.
- 5 Quilts for Kids, 3 Quilts for adults, 2 Love Quilts

5 Love Project quilts were completed at the retreat
- Kudos to Peggy who agreed to bind a quilt that had been donated by a family whose mother had passed before completing the quilt. It was made totally of 2.5" squares grouped with sashing and measured 110 inches square! This took some patience to quilt as it was not the smoothest edges either, and Peggy outdid herself. This quilt has been delivered to The Hope Center along with two other larger quilts. The center places families in homes and accepts larger quilts that would fit a bed.
- One quilt fits the criteria for a NICU Charity quilt challenge. It did not have a card attached to indicate who made it.
- Donations this month also included approximately 20 children's quilts to Nemours Children's Hospital.
