President’s Message May 2016
It’s fair to say most of us grew up reading Esther Pauline Freidman and/or Pauline Esther Freidman. These twin girls were known to us as Ann Landers and Dear Abby. Their advice columns were read by women and men alike who needed help with their mother-in-law, neighbors, spouses, kids and even dogs. Many a household stayed intact because “Ann said so.”
Following their example, BVQ presents to you….SEW WHAT? A new forum brainstormed by Lil Koster to help old and young quilters alike with just the right answer for your problem….in quilting that is! Look for more info in this newsletter and come and see if we can save your quilt!
Have you collected your hat, gloves and tickets for the Newcomers Tea? It’s always a lovely afternoon and hats and gloves are not required, but fun…as much fun as last month’s Retreat. Thanks to Ellen Nobles-Harris (got it right this time) and Julia Penna for another special time of fellowship with sewing friends.
A head’s up to let you know that Daria Bernard will be bringing the Delmarvelous Quilt Guild’s raffle quilt in June (sew-in and meeting with installation of officers)….bring your address stickers and $$$.
On the way home after our last meeting I kept thinking of all the questions I could have asked Deb Finan. What a resource! But wait we (BVQ) have her as a member. How lucky is that! Thanks Deb for a truly great presentation and oooh those door prizes!
If you are leaving the Board or stepping down as a chairperson, your report is due by the transition Board meeting Jun 16 TH. Sheets will be available at the sign in table to indicate if you are continuing as a chairperson, have interest in chairing a particular activity, or are resigning from being a chairperson.
Heartfelt thanks to all who have served either on the Board or as a chairperson, or both, this past year.
See you May 10 TH,
