Melinda made a couple of quilts BC (before children), back in the 1900’s before the rotary cutter! She is now happily retired, is very active in the local guild, and sews and quilts as much and as often as possible. She’s taught numerous classes at her local quilt shop, The Vintage Owl in Silsbee, TX. She is especially drawn to scrappy quilts, tiny pieces, and stars. EPP is now something of an obsession.
After discovering EPP and Lucy Boston in 2017 at Alewives Fabrics in Maine, she fell in love! The next fall she and a friend went on a sailboat cruise with the Alewives team, and in fall 2019 she got to teach on the cruise. She’s won a number of ribbons and awards (Golden Triangle Quilt Guild shows, Southeast TX State Fair Best of Show, Pineywoods Art Show). She had a quilt displayed at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in 2017 and two in 2019. My Blue Heaven was displayed in the Sapphire Celebration and Lucy Comes to Texas was in the juried competition.
