President's November 2021 Message

President’s Message….. 
I recently attended a retreat in the Finger Lake’s region fully expecting to see amazing fall color – it was pretty, but I must say the color around home this weekend has been amazing. Sometimes we find what we’re looking for right in our own back yards! Or maybe in our own quilt guild.. · We all follow lots of quilters on social media for inspiration, but have you seen what our own guild members are making? We have some amazing talent in BVQ!

• Each month we have a period of show’n share and everyone is invited to share what you have been up to. · We sign up for BOMS and challenges online with people we do not know, but did you know in 2022 we are running two challenges. We will continue the UFO challenge and also do “100 Blocks in 100 Days” with the Kinship Pattern (you can find more details in this newsletter). You will be able to share your progress at meetings and in social media to applaud and encourage one another, and we can celebrate accomplishment together. 
  
• We slip away with friends to sew and laugh whenever we can and we have the opportunity to do that with one another next April at the return of our annual retreat. 
  
• We look for ways to give back to this world or lend a hand to someone in need and BVQ has a very active community quilts program that includes children’s quilts, veteran’s quilts, pillowcases and more. We can also pass along our love of sewing and quilting to the next generation by volunteering with the Chester County 4H emerging makers. 
  
• We join a quilt guild because we love quilts and end up finding a group of new friends. The Connector program helps visitors and new members meet new people and get acclimated to our meetings. I could go on and on about BVQ. As our attention turns to expressing gratitude this November, I am grateful for each of you and what you bring to BVQ. Nancy
