Ryans's Case for Smiles (formerly ConKerr Cancer) was inspired by Ryan Kerr, who at the age of 12 began a 6 year battle with cancer....
Each year 44,000 children across North America are treated for cancer while thousands more experience life-changing illnesses and injuries. A hospital stay is a frightening experience for adults, and even more so for young children. Beyond the obvious medical fears and difficulties, a sterile hospital room lacks the comfort and warmth of home.
BVQ makes pillowcases which are donated to Ryan's Case for Smiles, who distributes them to hospitals for their young patients with serious or terminal illnesses. Download instructions and make one or more pillowcases in bright, cheerful fabrics, or pick up a kit at any BVQ Guild meeting. . Please wash and dry each pillowcase, place it in a clean Ziploc bag and bring it to any BVQ meeting.
